Job Title: Director of Operations - 3PL Industry

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Operations with multi-client experience in the 3PL industry. This key senior management position requires heavy involvement in overseeing all areas of assigned operations, including cost efficiency, staffing levels, productivity, quality, and providing essential reports to senior management. The Director will maintain a P&L for warehouse operations and work closely with senior leadership to drive the success of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence: Lead the development, implementation, and review of operational processes to drive productivity and reduce costs.
Warehouse Oversight: Responsible for all warehouse operations, including the introduction and expansion of consistent operational practices to improve productivity, quality, and profitability.
Strategic Leadership: Provide regular analysis of business results to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and participate in the strategic planning process of operations.
System Upgrades: Plan and review systems and procedures, ensuring alignment with operational goals and business requirements.
Problem Solving: Identify operational issues, analyze root causes, and make recommendations to address and mitigate problems.
Freight Negotiations: Participate in freight negotiations, ensuring cost-effective solutions for shipping and logistics.
Performance Metrics: Monitor key operating metrics such as units processed per hour, quality levels, revenue per hour, and revenue per square foot, and ensure the team adheres to performance expectations.
Budget Management: Develop and operate within the assigned operational budget, ensuring financial efficiency and success.
Job Specifications:
Education & Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated senior-level operations or leadership experience, preferably in the 3PL industry.
Proven track record of managing multi-client operations with a strong focus on warehouse management and process optimization.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and lead teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to senior leadership.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop effective solutions for operational challenges.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Experience in shipping consumer products to retail, distribution centers, and direct-to-consumer, including EDI labeling, chargeback avoidance, and adherence to routing guides.
Ability to work in a multi-shipper/courier environment.
